It’s all about the fishing.

We spend a LOT of time fishing at Trout Camp. Every morning at 5:00, we are on the river. After dinner, we fish until dark. In addition, there is a field trip to Popham Beach to fish in salt water for stripers, and a canoe trip on Thursday, where we do a lot of fishing as well.

The Kennebec River in Solon has solid populations of Salmon, Brook Trout, Rainbow Trout, and Brown Trout. (There is also the occasional Chub)

But tying is also fun.

We also spend a lot of time learning how to tie flies. Each fly is taught by a different registered Maine Guide. Each fly teaches different tying skills and works with different materials. There is nothing like the feeling of catching a fish on a fly you have tied yourself, and some of the most successful flies at camp have been tied by campers.
